"Witch Hat? shows some of these hats in different locations for you to ponder over but also refers to the well known problem solver and parallel thinker Dr Edward De Bono and one of his famous role playing games of wearing different hats. They come in many more colours and are easily available at hardware stores. Diary 2013Īlthough we see these useful control apparatus all over the world, usually associated with road works or construction, they seemed much more popular in Japan especially used in more domestic situations. I have been interested in watching witches hats in different situations here for quite a while and they often appear in my mixed media drawings. ![]() ![]() I had posted many of the different "hat" photos which I found interesting but have now got back to them to edit some and make them into a small zine to share with others. ![]() Put the cone on the circle, and bend the sticky side of the tape so that it sticks to the circle, inside the cone. Finally I've managed to get back to finish a little projectsI started a while ago after a short trip to Japan. Put about half of the tape on the inside of the cone, with half of the tape hanging down. To put the tape on the inside, cut off a small piece of tape. You can either just tape the outside of the cone, or stick the tape on the inside so that it’s less visible. Put your treat inside the cone, and then tape it to the circle. Then cut a circle for the bottom of the hat. To make the witch hats, roll a cone shape from black construction paper, and tape it. ![]() To go along with such a sweet witch, we made some candy treat witch hat cones! They were fun to hand out for the kids to nibble as we read. And my kids love the cute pictures and the three friends the witch picks up along the way. The rhyming and repetition in the book make it a fun to read aloud choice. We read Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson for this month’s Virtual Book Club For Kids selection. ![]()
